San Francisco, October 1, 2026 —Every.org, a nonprofit giving platform, today announced a new way for eligible donors to give from their individual retirement accounts (IRAs), simplifying qualified charitable distributions (QCDs) for donors and nonprofits alike.
More than $19.9 trillion is currently held in IRAs in the United States. Yet it is challenging for both the donor to give and for the nonprofit to receive the funds, particularly those without the staff, systems, or expertise to solicit, track, and process them. Every.org is streamlining this process.
“Money can only make a difference when it moves from a donor’s account to the nonprofits doing the work,” said Allison Fine, president and CEO of Every.org. “By handling the checks and tracking the gifts, we’re making another method of giving easier for both donors and nonprofits. All with no additional cost to either.”
Every.org manages IRA donations from start to finish. Donors no longer have to find the mailing addresses and instructions for each organization. Every.org tracks initiated gifts, reminds donors if checks have not arrived, notifies nonprofits about incoming funds, receives and processes checks from IRA providers, and then transfers the funds to the organization. This gives nonprofits visibility into gifts before checks arrive, and keeps both them and the donor updated on the process, greatly reducing the risk that a delayed or difficult-to-identify check will not reach its intended organization.
Every.org charges no platform fees for any type of contribution, including IRAs. As a nonprofit itself, Every.org exists to move more money to charitable organizations, not generate profits for shareholders.
Donors age 70½ and older can use Every.org to initiate a QCD of up to $111,000 per individual in 2026. These gifts may be excluded from taxable income and can count toward a required minimum distribution, if applicable.
